Who is behind Sapsapiens?
Hello! I’m Cristina
SAP S/4 HANA Certified Consultant
Welcome to Sapsapiens Blog!
Here you will find posts about SAP that will help you to understand the complex world of SAP and will keep you up to date with the latest news and trends. I wish you can find insightful the information in this blog.
How I learned SAP
It was in 2005 when I had my first contact with SAP, as an end user. It was not enough for me to learn what the end user guides explained, I was very curious to understand what was behind all those “You are not authorized” messages. This led me down the path to becoming an SAP consultant, so I could have a user with all the authorizations and learn more.
In January 2006 I got my first consulting job and since that day I have been doing SAP without interruption. I find it gratifying to be able to help companies improve their productivity by creating scalable solutions. This often requires digging into SAP code to find the best solution, but I acknowledge that unraveling SAP is something I love. I have worked in consulting firms, in end clients and more recently as a freelancer.
Through my experience, I have worked for several countries and industries, building good relationships along the way. In fact, I have used two of the SAP’s industry solutions: Mill Products and Media. One of my strengths is that I have participated in so many projects having the chance to see several ways to manage the same issues in different companies and in different industries. If you are interested, you can see more details about my experience in LinkedIn.
As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, my contract in Germany was canceled. So, I found the time to go deeper in topics related to SAP and SAP S/4 HANA. Also, I learned how to create a website and run out of excuses for starting this blog which has been in my mind for a long time. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and see this blog as an opportunity to do so. I hope you enjoy reading me too.
My full name is Cristina Gil Gallo. I am from Valencia (Spain) although I have also lived in other places such as Madrid (Spain), in Heidelberg (Germany) and currently in England.
To break the ice, I will tell you three things about me that you will not find in my CV:
- The first time I got a plane was on a business trip when I was 25 years old. I know, I was old for that. I didn’t tell my colleagues because I didn’t want to look inexperienced. I still remember the shocking face of my colleague when I told her to be quiet because that I wanted to hear what the flight attendant was saying before the flight.
- Sometimes I enjoy doing things that others consider risky. One example of this is getting a skydiving license so I can jump from planes on my own. If you don’t believe me, here are a couple of videos with evidence: video 1 and video 2. Also, I leave you a link to the video of the first time I jumped, it was a Tandem. It was at that moment when I decided I wanted more: Tandem Video (Apologies, sound is only in spanish).
- I am a sociable person and love social events, meeting old friends and meeting new people. In fact, I have made good friends in every place where I have lived and that sometimes frustrates me because it is difficult to be close to all the people I love. That is one of the reasons why it is important for me to be able to work remotely, I want to be able to visit the places where I have friends without having to ask for holidays.
